Title VI Plan—City of Everett 8 <br /> contracts, City website, and annual publication of Title VI Policy Statement in a <br /> newspaper having a general circulation. Ensure public service announcements or notices <br /> are posted of proposed projects, hearings, meetings or formation of boards in media <br /> reaching affected community. Ensure full utilization of available minority publications <br /> or media; and, where appropriate,provide written or verbal information in languages <br /> other than English. <br /> I. Elimination of Discrimination. Work with Specialists to establish procedures for <br /> promptly resolving deficiencies, if any. <br /> J. Maintain legislative and procedural information. Maintain federal laws, rules, <br /> regulations, guidelines from relevant oversight agencies, current Title VI Plan, Annual <br /> Accomplishment Reports and other information relevant to implementation and <br /> administration of Title VI Program. <br /> IV. Title VI Training <br /> The Coordinator will develop procedures for training and assure the implementation of <br /> annual Title VI training for departmental specialists. <br /> V. Complaint Procedures—Allegations of Discrimination in Federally Assisted <br /> Programs or Activities <br /> A. Overview <br /> These procedures cover all complaints filed under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of <br /> 1964 as amended, Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation <br /> Act of 1973, and Title II of the Americans with Disability Act, relating to any program or <br /> activity administered by the City of Everett, as well as to sub-recipients, consultants, and <br /> contractors. Intimidation of or retaliation against a complainant for bringing a complaint <br /> is prohibited by law. <br /> The procedures do not deny the right of the complainant to file formal complaints with <br /> other state or federal agencies or to seek private counsel for complaints alleging <br /> discrimination. Every effort will be made to resolve complaints informally at the City <br /> and/or level of a sub-recipient under contract with the City. The option of informal <br /> mediation meeting(s)between the affected parties and a designated mediator may be <br /> utilized for resolution. <br /> B. Procedures <br /> 1. Any individual, group of individuals, or entity that believes they have been subjected <br /> to discrimination prohibited by nondiscrimination requirements may file a written <br /> complaint with the City of Everett, Attn.: Title VI Coordinator, 2930 Wetmore Ave., <br /> 50 <br />
