Provide pavement subgrade preparation recommendations and an estimated CIIR for the subgrade. 10. Prepare a written report presenting our conclusions and recommendations along with supporting data. SITE CONDITIONS SURFACE CONDITIONS 'Ihe site ia located on the top of a broad forested ridge north of the North Perimeter Road. It is generally squaze shaped, measuring approximately 800 feet on each side. The ridge vends nonh-south and generally slopes gendy downward to the east and north at slopes of about 6 to 12 percent. Isolated azeas of slopes steeper than 25 percent are located in the central portion of ihe site. The site is bordered on the east by a wildlife corridor and property owned by Fluke Manufacturing and oa the north by undevelopod Boeing propeRy. The western side of the ridge slopes downward at about 20 to 50 percent to atphalt-lined detention ponds in Powder Mili Gulch. T6e site topography is shown on tl�e Sita Plan, Figure 2. The site is vegetated with second-growth coniferous and deciduous trees having trunk diameters that range from about 8 to 20 inches. The understory consists of scattered to dense brush and forest duff covering the ground surface to depths of approximately 2 to 6 inches. Temporary roads have been cleazed on the southem portion of the site to provide access for vehicles used w transplant some of the vees. A soil stockpile exists adjacent to the nonh side of the North Perimeter Road at the exveme southem portion of the site. The stocl�pile, which extends approzimately 600 feet along the road and 150 feet nonh of the road, wat const:ucted tn two benches. 'Ihe surface of the lowec bench is approximately ]5 feet above the North Perimeter Road and generally conesponds to ihe elevation of the native ground surface at the southern end of the site. 1'he upper bench is located approximately 12 to 13 feet above the lower bench. The site appears to drain generally to the west and nortbeast thcough several minor swales. No surface water waz observed in thcse swalcs or anywhere else on the site during our site visits in June 1992. We observed several man-made drainage features near the site, including tlie .
