The cemenl treated base shall consist of an admixture of
32 Type 1 cement mixed with onsite soils to achieve a 5 percent by dry weight
33 proportion. The cement content for construction shall be that at which the mix
34 develops a 7-day compressive slrength of at least 750 psi.
35
1 36 Construction Requirements
37 Section 4-03.3
38 WEATHER LIMITATIONS. The cement-treated base shall not be mixed or
39 placed while the atmospheric temperature is below 40°F (4°C) or when
40 conditions indicate that the temperature may fall below 35"F (2°C) within 24
41 hours or when the weather is rainy. Cement-treated base shall not be placed on
42 frozen subgrade or mixed when aggregate is frozen.
I 43
44 PREPARING UNDERLYING COURSE. The dip subgrade should be ripped,
45 graded, or disc-loosened to a depth of at least 12 inches below grade. The
{ 46 loosened subgrade soils should be moisture conditioned such that the material is
47 within 2 percenl of its optimum moisture content.
48
1 Port of Everett FAWAT•03-039
Satellite RalllBarge Transfer Faclllty Final Port Review Drafl
( Phase 1:Pier Construction 45 15 March 2005
