All reports will be submitted by
September 1 each year, The monitoring information to be colleaed is detailed below.
Samplfng Methods
Vetaj(pp, Vegetadon wili be monitored annually (early summer) by a site walk-through
method that wlil examine the three community layers, e.g. veos, shmbs, and ground layer
forbs and gresses. Surviva!and mortality counts, andgor and vitaliry obxervadons will be
made. Survivorship also will be determined by noticing signs of stress, such as t6e presence
of dead wood, toot suckering, and d'uease. Vigor and vitality will be defued by signs of new
growth, vegetative propagapon, flowcring, and seed production. Thu inEormation wil] be
collected during [he month of Iune. Inspections will identify any invazion by reed
canary{ass, purple loosestrife, or any other noxious wetland weeds.
gydroloav With vegetative zonation 3aectly related to water depths, the need to monitor
water depths is deemed necessary. Tbe objective of monitoring water depths is to deteraune
the potential ef£ea water depth has on success(or lack of success)in establishing the tazget
wedand hebitat type. Water levels vrill be monitored monthly during the first yeaz to
determine the month w•hen inundation is at a maximum and at a minimum. Theteafter,
monitoring will occur quarterly. [nundation and soil samration depths will beeasured at
two permanent sampling poina. Overall water coverage ull be estimated throughout the
wedand miugation arex. The condition and fimctionaliry fo the weirs wiU be thecked at the
time oE thc hydrologic monitoring.

. oaokwsvo,muaat
mm*amowm'ocitw
YININAp,TLLL11E1/0
^. ouuupiwmfimym
aeaam

,i
