Handrails may project not morc than 3 1/2 inches into each side of the required width. Stringers and other projections such as trim are limited to 1 1/2 inches on each side. Section 1006.2. ✓11. Risers on stairways shall be not less ttian 4 inches nor exceed 8 inches, and runs (treads) shall be not less than 9 inches. Section 1006.3. �E�� 12.'The top of handrails are to be placed no less than 34 inches nor more than 38 inches above the nosing of treads. Section 1006.9. ✓13. Handrails projecdng from a wall must have a space of not less than 1 1/2 inches bctween the wall and the handrail. Section 1006.9. �4. The handgrip portion of handrails shall be not less than 1 1/2 inches in cross sectional dimension or the shape shall provide an equivalent gripping surface.
