03 <br />March 17, 1976 <br />� DEMOLITION (Council Bill 762-48) <br />Bob Royce of the Housing Department reported that Resolution No. <br />1112 adopteu previously would be enforced as the 30-day waiting <br />period set by the Council had passed and no action had been taken <br />regarding renovation of the building at 5002 2nd Avenue. <br />SIDS R'3CEIVED (Council Bill 762-43) <br />Herb Boushey, Director o£ Maintenance & Facilities, reported on <br />the bida received for janitorial service for one year. These bids <br />were as follows: <br />Name 'Pirm Price First Year <br />Tyler Janitorial Service of Seattle $20,979.60 <br />Yro£essional Maintenance, Inc. of Seattle 21,486.00 <br />. American Building Maintenance, Everett 22,257.20 <br />Casca3e Building Maintenance, Sno. County 22,596.00 <br />Dittm�in Maintenance, Snohomish County. 24,580.80 <br />Omeya, Snohomish County 26,820.00 <br />Mr. Boushey said the low bidder, with their bid of $20,979.60 on <br />the base requirements, plus lOC per square foot for carpet clean- <br />ing, is actually less than the City's existing cost. Their esca- ' <br />lation cost for the second year is 10� and with the escalation <br />percentage a�ded for the proposed second year, their base cost is <br />$44,057.16 and with carpet cleaning added, is $47,257.16. He <br />said this biu was low on both the one-year and two-year proposals, <br />and recommended awarding to Tyler Janitorial Service. <br />The Council asked if this firm would hire local people and he said <br />he had questioned her on this and she said people would be hired <br />from the City of Everett so they would be available at all tiraes. <br />Moved by Councilman Ebert, seconded by Councilman Langus to •lccept <br />the recommendation and award the janitorial service bid to ".yler <br />Janitorial Service, the low bidder, at their bid of $20,979.60 for <br />the first year. <br />Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes except Councilman <br />Aldcroft who voted r.o and Councilman Kinch who was excused. <br />Motion Carried <br />COUNCIL BILL N0. 762-54 <br />Final Reading. <br />-•An ordinance supPler„enting appropriations of the budget for the <br />City of Everett for 1976; and amending Ordi.nance No. 376-75, as <br />amended by Ordinance Nos. 387-76 and 388-76, and declaring an <br />emergency to exist. <br />Moved by Councilman Ebert, seconded by Council.man Rucker that this <br />is dectared to be the final readiny of Council IIill No. 7G2-S4, and <br />the City Clerk is directed t.o call the roll for the final disposi- <br />tion of the ordinance. . <br />Roll Call: <br />Ayes: Langu�, t4isiielson, Ebert, Rucker, Gipson <br />
