ae <br />March 17, 1976 <br />MAYOR'S REPORT <br />Mayor Anderson reported to the Council on his attendance at: the Na- <br />tional League of Cities Congressional City Conference in Washington, <br />D. C. Their main concern of course was revenue sharitig and were hon- <br />ing to have appropriated aoproximately another 5-1/2 years of revenue <br />sharing with the entitlements and rules and,regulations aUout the <br />same. A�ter meetina back there, hE felt that we could expect to re- <br />ceive funding from 2 to 3-3/9ths years with a commentary from the <br />Congress that �his will be the end of this type of �roqram. He also <br />stated that at a minimum, iridications are that the C.E.T.�. funds <br />will be extended until at least the end of this year, possibly unt?1 <br />June o� 1977. • <br />APPOINTME*]'i <br />Mayor Anderson requested concurrence by the Council of Mr. Dell <br />Russell, Jr. as a member of the Board of Adjustment with term to <br />expire December 31, 1981. <br />Moved by Councilman Langus, seconded by Councilman Michelson to con- <br />cur in this aopointment of Mr. Russell to the Board of Adjustr,tent. <br />Roll was called with a1Z Councilmen voting yes except Councilmen <br />Aldcroft a�?d Ebert who voted no, and Councilman Kinch who was excused. <br />Mo�ion Carried <br />:tESOLUTION (Council Bill 763-80) <br />Moved by Councilman Aldcroft, seconded by Councilman Langus to adopt <br />Resolution No. 1123 as follows: <br />Whereas, the City of Everett has heretofore in3icated i.ts intent to <br />apply to the United Sta'ces Department of Transportation Urban Mass <br />fransportation Administration, for an operating assistance grant of <br />$150,370 under Section 5 of the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, <br />as amended, and <br />Whereas, in accordance with said federal statutes this appiication <br />must be processed through the designated recipient of funds for Sno- <br />homish County, �ohich is the Snohomish County Transportatiun Authority, <br />and <br />Whezeas, it is in the best interest of the City of Everett to make <br />appl?.cation to the Department of Transportation, Urban Ma�s Tran^por- <br />t3tion Administration, for an operating assistance grant as herein <br />provided; <br />Now, th=refore, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of <br />Everett that the !dayor is hereby aut:horized to prepare and submit <br />to the Department of Transportation through the Snohor.iish County <br />Transportaticn Authority a grant_ application for an operating as- <br />sistance grant of $150,370. <br />Roll was called with all Councilmen voting ges except Councilman <br />hinch who was excused. <br />Motion Carried <br />
