Those walls should be shown as listed, one-hour fire resistive assemblies. The listing should be shown on the plans. The roof/ceiling should be a listed one-hour fire resistive assembly. Section 709.4.1. The documents have been revised to show (2) layers of 5/8" type 'X' GWB on the roof joists (ceiling) for a one hour assembly. See aheeb A4.0 and A6.0. 3. The analysis of the roof by the Engineer of Record states that the Existing Roof does not meet Structural requirements of the 1997 UBC. If the stresses in the roof inembers exceeded one and one half times the working stress or stresses allowed in the UBC, the building will be classified as'dangerous' per the definition is Section 302 of the 7997 Abatement of Dangerous Buildings code. All buildings or portions thereof which are determined to be dangerous shall be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal. Any required repairs shouid be specified by the Engineers of Record and shown on the plans. Section 106.3.4.1. Note that the roof inember diagram in the engineers' report does not depict the actual roof constructior., as the ceiling joists do not attach to the roof rafters. The actual load path of stresses through the plates and studs should be clarified. We will comply. Please see revised drawings (addi?ional aheet added) 31.3, and revfsed calculations. 4. The handrail extension at the bottom of the interior stairs should be a minimum of 23". Section 1003.3.3.6 We have added the handrails with the 23" extension to the floor plan, see attached sheet A2.0. 5. The Water Heater shouid be shown strapped to the structure at the top and bottom of the tank. Sectior. 308.1, UMC We have added a note stating the Water Heater shall be seismically strapped to the structure at both the top and bottom oi the tank, sea sheet A2.0. 6. The doors on the Second Floor (Type B) should be caoable of being opened so that the clear width of the opening is not less than 32". Section 11-6.10.2 The doors on the Second Floor were changed to 36" vride doors, see sheet A2.0. 7. The slope of the elevated walkway should be shown as not more than 1:20. Section 1106.4.3.
