LA��fer visually viewing the subject property and considering all <br />facts, it was moved by Mr. IIerg, seconded by Mr. Kristiansen <br />unanimously carried to deny the applicant's request as it <br />snot meet the criteria of Section 19.70.060 of the Everett <br />icipal Code. <br />A hearing was held on the application of The Colby Associates, <br />represented by Wesley Ingram, P.O. Box 778, Everett Washington <br />98206 for a variance from Section 19.20.060 Everett Municipal <br />Code, Height Limitation, to allow for an addition in `he height <br />of a proposed building from the code requirement of 30 feet to <br />a height of one hundred and ten (110) feet. <br />Legal Description: South ten (10) feet Lot 2 and Lots 3 to 10 <br />and 17 to 32 Block 7 Climax Land Company's First <br />Addition <br />Address: Approximately 3900 Block of Wetmore - West Side <br />Zoning: R-4 Multiple Family High Density Residence <br />At this time Chairman Russell abstained from this application an -- <br />turned the Chairmanship over to Mr. Berg. <br />Mr. Ingram introduced Mr. Loveland, the architect for Colby <br />Associates, and the two representatives made the following <br />statements: <br />1. The difference between the eighty (80) foot height <br />requirement and the 110 foot that is asked, would be <br />mainly for concealment of air conditioning ducts, vents, <br />and machinery of various types. <br />2. The living area of the condominium would be within eight: <br />feet of the ground level. <br />3. A different design of a flat roof type does not have the <br />esthetics value. <br />4. Most of the off street parking will be concealed. <br />There was some comments from the audience pertaining to proper <br />traffic flow being important and that the Planning Corlission <br />had rezoned this area some years ago to a multiple family high <br />density zoning, therefore, giving their approval for increased <br />density of multiple dwellings. <br />After visually viewing the subject property and considering all <br />the facts and testimony, it was moved by Mr. Kristiansen, seconde? <br />by Mr. Black and unanimously carried that the variance be denied <br />as the application does not meet the qualifications of Section <br />19.70.060 of the Everett Municipal Code. <br />n <br />
