LAfer visually viewing the subject property and considering all
facts, it was moved by Mr. IIerg, seconded by Mr. Kristiansen
unanimously carried to deny the applicant's request as it
snot meet the criteria of Section 19.70.060 of the Everett
icipal Code.
A hearing was held on the application of The Colby Associates,
represented by Wesley Ingram, P.O. Box 778, Everett Washington
98206 for a variance from Section 19.20.060 Everett Municipal
Code, Height Limitation, to allow for an addition in `he height
of a proposed building from the code requirement of 30 feet to
a height of one hundred and ten (110) feet.
Legal Description: South ten (10) feet Lot 2 and Lots 3 to 10
and 17 to 32 Block 7 Climax Land Company's First
Addition
Address: Approximately 3900 Block of Wetmore - West Side
Zoning: R-4 Multiple Family High Density Residence
At this time Chairman Russell abstained from this application an --
turned the Chairmanship over to Mr. Berg.
Mr. Ingram introduced Mr. Loveland, the architect for Colby
Associates, and the two representatives made the following
statements:
1. The difference between the eighty (80) foot height
requirement and the 110 foot that is asked, would be
mainly for concealment of air conditioning ducts, vents,
and machinery of various types.
2. The living area of the condominium would be within eight:
feet of the ground level.
3. A different design of a flat roof type does not have the
esthetics value.
4. Most of the off street parking will be concealed.
There was some comments from the audience pertaining to proper
traffic flow being important and that the Planning Corlission
had rezoned this area some years ago to a multiple family high
density zoning, therefore, giving their approval for increased
density of multiple dwellings.
After visually viewing the subject property and considering all
the facts and testimony, it was moved by Mr. Kristiansen, seconde?
by Mr. Black and unanimously carried that the variance be denied
as the application does not meet the qualifications of Section
19.70.060 of the Everett Municipal Code.
n
