5829 South 2nd Ave.
Dec820W g 98208 ,-- R R U R,..
J  LS LS L5 D;
Jeff Langus ^
5 9 0 1 So u t h 2n d Ave. DEC 2 2 999
Everett, WA 98208
_ _ ...............................
'T" OF EVERETT
DearJeff: ;•ee9Pubuc Services
I have put off writing this letter as I hoped that it would no! be necessary. But
you are not taking seriously the problem that you are causing me. Everett's Planning
Department understood it and wroto the dirt shifting limitations and the drainage
requirement into the Kenna shortplat before approving it for building on Lots I and 2.
Any and all water was to be caught and run over to the drainage system of the
pond south of ine. I cooperated with your uncie and brother to faciiitate this require-
ment for Lots I and 2. Back then, your father stopped by, introduced himself, and
thanked me for cooperating with his family.
When the first bulldozer appeared on your lot I went up and talked with the
supervisor. He told me they would be building a home for Bill's brother. I informed
hirn that no changes could be made in the ground formation that would cause water to
run down onto my property or to run down our driveway. That ali water from the
improvements had to be drained to the pond drainage system. As work progressed I
gava the same message to your companion and to you ersonally on more than one
occesion.
The water coming down our driveway continues to be unacceptable. It has
washed out material and caused a rut in the south track that needs to be corrected.
The :;outh track (right track going east) is more than a foot lower than the north track at
som+ spots. It probably requires a few yards of driveway gravel to bring it back to
normal.
I am asking you to take care of this as an obligation and as a common courtesy
to neighbors.
If we get a cold spell where the temperature drops into the twenties for a few
days I am afraid that the loss of coverinn will permit my water pipes to freeze which
couid cost several thousard dollars to corrt. This responsibility will be yours if the
situation is not corrected. I trust that you will get out and waik down the driveway and
see for yourself. Let me hear from you.
Sincerely,
,
'
Elwin F. Anderson
CC: James Langus
Larry Crawford, Engineering, /
Everett Public Works
