Access to t.ie house for inspection for <br />estimates may be arranged either through the owner or through <br />Steve Galey at the CHIP office. <br />1. Roofing � Gutters Remove existing chimney through <br />house complete. Patch hole throuqh roof with plywood to <br />match level of adjacent sheathing, 15# asphalt <br />impregnated felt and roofing to match existing. <br />Snstall new 15t asphalt impregnated felt over sheathing <br />at rear porch addition roof, install galvanized metal <br />drip edge on eave and rake edges. Install galvanized <br />metal step flashing between new porch addition roof and <br />siding on main house. <br />Remove remaininq gutters on house. Install new 1 x 6 <br />cedar facia on all eaves including rear porch addition. <br />install new 5" aluminum "R" style continuous gutters and <br />matching downspouts, owner choice of color. Seal all <br />joints with approved sealant. Gutters slope to <br />downspouts and be secured to rafter tails 48" O.C. <br />Secure downspouts at top, bottom and at all joints. <br />Provide precast concrete splash blocks at downspouts. <br />$ � �:c . � e <br />2. Porch Work Front Porch: Tear off existing skirting <br />on ront porch deck and stens, Install new cedar <br />lattice skirting ovei solid backing. Bottom cho�d of � <br />backinq : pres3ure treated. Install new 1 x 4 cedar <br />trim at top and sides of lattice skirting. install 18" <br />x 24" access panel on north end of porch. <br />Install new rai.lings and handrails on fcont porch and <br />steps. Railings . consist of 2 x 4 top and bottom <br />chords with 2 x 2 spindles, 6" O.C., cedar. Provide 4 x <br />4 posts at top and bottom of steps, each side, bolted to <br />stringers or other solid framing. Railing height . <br />36". Install new 1-1/2" dia. wood handrail down one <br />side of steps, secured with brass brackets and returned <br />to railing top and bottom as per code. <br />Rear Porch: See plans and elevation for layout and <br />dimensions of new �ear porch deck. Tear off existing <br />shed on east side of house complete. <br />Construct foundation for addition. Foundation . <br />monolithic concrete wall footing, 24" deep, 6" above <br />grade. (18" below grade), 12" wide at base of footing at <br />perimeter. Reinforcing . 2-A4 bars continuous at <br />bottom, ?-A4 beir continuous at top, tied into wall of <br />house. Slab : minimum 4" thick over 4" washed gravel. <br />Imbed 1/2" steel sill bolts where wall is to be <br />support�d, 4' O.C., imbed steel post aachors at post <br />locatiuns. <br />Frame walls, deck and roof of addition. Posts : 4 x <br />4's, D.F. Ik2 or better. Wall framing : 2 x 4's 16" <br />O.C. Deck, joist•and rafter framing 2 x 6's, 16" <br />O.C. Roof pitch : match existing. Double rim joists on <br />east end. Use metal anchors to secur� 4 x.4 posts to <br />rim joists or header. Holt ledger for deck and raiters <br />to house framing. Use 4 x 6 header for roof ovechang <br />above door to kitchen upstairs. <br />
