July 10, 2013 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., July 10, 2013, in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, Council President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Bader, and <br /> Affholter were present. Council Members Murphy, Gipson, and <br /> Stonecipher were excused. <br /> Mayor Stephanson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 3, 2013, City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson expressed gratitude to those council members who <br /> participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony that was held a few weeks ago <br /> for the new municipal court. The Mayor extended a belated thank you to <br /> President Moore for sharing his employment experience that promoted <br /> the idea of looking at a new structure built around the existing structure, <br /> which resulted in a very successful outcome. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Affholter complimented and thanked all City staff for an <br /> outstanding job in coordinating the 4th of July activities this year. <br /> Council Member Roberts echoed Council Member Affholter's comments <br /> about the events on the 4th of July. <br /> Council Member Roberts also commented on the appointment of Mayor <br /> Stephanson by Governor Inslee to lead a 777x task force, which will look <br /> at the federal, state, and local permitting processes for potential facilities, <br /> and specifically, to create the most competitive advantage possible for this <br /> project. Council Member Roberts introduced and read into the record, a <br /> resolution that was drafted by City of Everett and Snohomish County staff. <br /> Snohomish County Council Chair Stephanie Wright and County Council <br /> Member Brian Sullivan were in attendance. <br /> 187 <br />
