July 10, 2013 <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member <br /> Bader, to adopt Resolution No. 6636, concerning a Joint Resolution <br /> of the Everett City Council and Snohomish County Council <br /> supporting designation of Paine Field 777x facilities as a project of <br /> statewide significance. <br /> Mayor Stephanson thanked the City Council. He stated that the timing is <br /> important due to deadlines and in terms of the decision that The Boeing <br /> Company will make. Mayor Stephanson stated this designation reinforces <br /> the expedited process and will help with future interface with the <br /> Legislature and will be the first project that the State has undertaken as a <br /> project of statewide significance. The Mayor expressed gratitude to <br /> County Council Chair Wright and Council Member Sullivan for their <br /> partnership in the project. <br /> Council Member Affholter expressed his support and thanked <br /> Chair Wright and Council Member Sullivan for their attendance and <br /> partnership in the project. He stated the resolution sends a strong <br /> message of unification between the City of Everett and Snohomish <br /> County to The Boeing Company and the aerospace industry of the desire <br /> to be a regional leader. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that it is important to note for the record <br /> that this resolution is not new policy; it is implementing procedures and <br /> policies that the City has already adopted. The resolution allows the City <br /> to apply for a status that was created from past work completed by the <br /> City and County in developing the southwest Everett industrial area. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council <br /> Members Murphy, Gipson, and Stonecipher who were excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> The City Attorney had no comments. <br /> 188 <br />
