Hoard of Adustment Minutes
January 5, 198
Page 3
ITEM :
Applicant: Rick Graff
1003 Woodlawn Avenue
Everett, Washington 98203
Proect Location: 2624 View Crest7 .
Zoning: R-S, Single Family Residential
Variance Requested: From E.M.C. 19.12.060, Height Limitations to allow
construction of a single family residence that would
be 27.5 f'eet high instead of the 25 feet allowed by
City code.
Pearl Maddy summarized the staff report (see Variance File No. 47-86) and
sh.;wed slides of the property.
Rick Graff, 1003 Woodlawn, the applicant, stated that he is satis!'ied by
Pearl's comments. He is not t:ying to build a monumental building that
captures ali possible views. Rather, he is trying to build a house that is
compatible With other structures in the area. For example, he tried to keep a
low pitch to the roof. Ravines on the southeast side of the lot will preclude
any bui.lding there. In response to a question from Frank Bennett, he stated
that he understands that any decision by the Hoard of Ad,justment cannot
override orivate covenants whieh may have been place on the property.
Pearl Maddy reported that she had talked with Mr. Bocek, the oaner of the
prc^ ty to the south, and he had stated he Would be ailling to submit a
written statement to the Board that he has no obection to the granting of
this variance reqest. Everett Miller requested that this be done.
Motion: Marie Sullivan offered a motion to grant the variance as
recommended by staff. Ramona Boylan seconded the motion.
Vote: Unanimous in favor of granting the variance.
ITEM:
Applicant: Daryl Finley
21015 4th Avenue West
Lynnwood, Washington 98036
Pro,}ect Location: 5702 E.
