Plant in the early spring or late fall. Order plants <br />from a reputable nursery. Care and handling of plant <br />materials is extremely important to the overall success of <br />the project. <br />Invasive blackberry vines or other non-native <br />weedy species shall he manually control during the first <br />five growing seasons. This should he done several times <br />during each growing season. <br />Three foot by 1/2 inch stakes should be placed next to <br />each tree and shrub planted to assist in locating the <br />plants while removing the competing blackberry and to <br />assist in monitoring the plantings. <br />All disturbed areas may he mulched with wood and <br />hark chips, if during any inspections it is determined <br />this will stabili-.e the ground surface and not affect <br />native plant germination. Depth of chips should not <br />exceed one foot. <br />Siltation Control Fencing will he placed along the <br />western property boundary to protect water quality in <br />the stream and wetland. This fence will he maintained <br />until the restoration plan is complete and the mulching <br />is in place. <br />A Permanent Fence will he constructed along the <br />south and east edge of the Native Growth Buffer. The <br />purpose of this fence shall he to designate this protected <br />area. This fence must he complete by final inspection. <br />The project will not he determined successful without <br />completion of this fence. <br />Three signs, noting the presence of sensitive habitat, <br />shall he installed on the fence. The wording of the signs <br />is to he approved by the City of Everett. An example: <br />Environmentallv Sensitive Habitat <br />"This Wetland Buffer Area is designed to protect adjacent <br />wetlands from impacts to habitat and water quality. Please <br />protect this area.
