The date of <br />this appraisal is unknoc,m. The assessor's;records also indicate <br />the estimated cost of demolition at $62,000. <br />If the city were to incurr any expenses in the demolition of the <br />structure or for accuring the structure it is doubtful that we <br />will recover the money as there is a question of the priority of <br />any lien imposed by us. <br />it is my recommendation that we mail notice to all parties <br />involved, by Certified Pdail, and firmly insist that they accept <br />the responibility to secure the building. If this fails our <br />only alternative is to refer the matter to the council and <br />recommend that the building be secured using city funds. <br />I would be hesitant to request the council to order the demolition <br />of this building, as the cost to the city could, quite conceivably, <br />reach $75,000, and we would be in danger of court action by the <br />owners as the structure is quite sound structurally. <br />I have taken the responsibility to insure that all utilities to <br />the structure are rendered safe or disconnected. <br />r <br />
