Bob indicated that the place wa: in pretty bad condition and the Mayor asked if something could be done about it. Upon inspecting the house and the one directly west of it, I proceeded to post both buildings "Illegal to Occupy." A copy of the posting is enclosed. Also enclosed is an inter —departmental "Notice of Posting" which advises other departments of my action. Once this Notice reaches Utility Billing, the water service for that building is discontinued until the building is demolished or rehabilitated. The service does not get restored until Utility Billing contacts me and I advise them in writing to restore service. Also enclosed is the copy of a letter to the owner of the building. I refer to this as my 10 day letter in which the owner is given 10 days to respond, after receiving this letter via certified mail return receipt requested, with a plan of action to either repair or demolish the building. At any rate, I will keep you informed of the progress with this case.
