stjailprecon:48
PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING
SNOHOMISH COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY
Wednesday, October 12, 1983
The pre -construction meeting for the Snohomish County Detention
Facility was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 1983, in
the Executive Office Conference Room. Those in attendance are
listed on the attached sheet. ;.ue to foggy conditions, the
representatives from the architectural firm (WMFL) did not arrive
until 10:45 a.m.
Mel Calender began the meeting by introducing himself and Harry
Olson as the new Jail Construction Manager and Jail Construction
Inspector, respectively. He asked that all correspondence
regarding the project be addressed to himself. Mel pointed out
the fact that everyone will be working in a team effort and asked
that everyone try to perform their jobs properly, on time and
even before time, if possible.
The following items were then addressed by Mel:
All shop drawings are to be submitted to Mel, creating a
one -point source, and he will then transmit them to the
people that are responsible for checking shop drawings.
Should some lengthy explanation to the architect be needed
for one thing or another, it should still pass through Mel.
Shop drawings, as well as other samples, will be very
critical and timely submittal is very important. The
project specifications basically set up the submittal
schedule on a thirty (30) days basis and in order to keep
things on schedule, this schedule has to be adhered to.
There is a maximum of twenty-one (21) days turnaround time,
but it is hoped to cut that down as much as possible.
Any critical items and long -delay items need to be ordered
quickly. It is the County's intention to pay for whatever
items come in and the general contractor will provide
warehouse for them accordingly.
The contractor will be contacting everyone regarding the
schedule of values, which establishes where the project is
as to both time and money. Everyone is asked to respond
quickly to the contractor's requests.
A progress meeting will be held on a specified day once a
week for the major contractors and will be attended by the
following:
Jail Construction Manager
Jail Construction Inspector
General Contract Supervisor
