Proposed Uses (See Site Plan) (Snohomish County) The County proposes to construct a new jail and parking facilities on Lots 21 through 30, inclusive and to remodel the existing office building on Lots 7-10 (3015 Oakes) so as to serve as a work release facility. Parking is to be provided under and to the west of the new jail building, and on Lots 11-13, inclusive. Long-term planning for the site envisions expansion of the jail and work release facilities and perhaps incorporating the Sheriff's Department into one or more new buildings occupying Lots 7-15. Timins; on this expansion will be dependent upon a number of growth factors but it is expected that an initial expansion will be needed by about 1995-2000. This application does not propose any change in property use of Lots 16-20 (Printing Company). E. Environmental Checklist That Environmental Checklist distributed by the County in August, 1981, is enclosed. Present planning for development of the site differs in internal detail from the use described in the Environmental Checklist. Whereas that checklist indicated a 4-5 story jail housing 337 persons, including those in work release, current planning provides for housing 277 persons in a six -story jail and 60 persons in a separate work release facility at 3015 Oakes. Planning for subsequent expansion does not necessarily include utiliza- tion of Lots 16-20 (Printing Company).
