ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST <br />FINAL DECLARATION OF NON -SIGNIFICANCE <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL: <br />The existing County Jail, which has been determined to be substandard, is <br />located in the County Courthouse Building in downtown Everett. The applicant <br />has requested siting approval to construct a new County detention facility on <br />properties between Oakes Avenue and Lombard Avenue, between Wall Street and <br />Pacific Avenue, excepting the site of the former Carnegie Library Building, <br />in the City of Everett. The proposed facility will be designed to house up to <br />337 persons and is expected to include approximately 114,400 square feet in <br />4-5 stories and parking for approximately 45 vehicles. These facilities are <br />subject to expansion to accommodate future growth. <br />The facility will be occupied by persons sentenced for misdemeanor and felony <br />offenses and arrested persons awaiting arraignment or trial. <br />Applicant will also request a special land use permit; building and related <br />permits; and a sewer connection permit from the Lity of Everett. <br />Public water and sewer will be provided to standards of the City of Everett. <br />The submittal of this Declaration of Non -Significance should not be interpreted I <br />as acceptance or approval of the subject proposal as presented.
