It has a capacity of 50 gallons. The <br /> capaciry of the water heater is smaller than I would have expected fdr the potential use. This <br /> could be a nuisance at times. It has a pressure-temperature relief (P� valve. It is not <br /> strapped in plaCe for earthquake resistanoe as required by modern codes. <br /> MAINTENANCE: Because ot the age and condition of this plumbing system, I wouid expect <br /> the maintenance problems te be greater than normai. <br /> HOSE BIBS: The hose bibs are not of a trostproof design. They will be subject to freezing if <br /> they are not drained during cold weather. <br /> FREFZE HAZARD: The piping located in the uni�sulat2d exlerior walls is subject to freezing. <br /> SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM: Evaivation of the sewage disposal system is beyond the <br /> scope of this inspection. <br /> SECTION 7. HEATING SYSTEM <br /> The irspeCtor defermines the rated capacity oi the heating equipment, where possible, so <br /> ihat he can evaluate its adequacy. He per(orms a visual inspection ot the assembled <br /> equipment for its condition, but he does not dismantle any portion of it. He operates the <br /> equipment, i( possible, and eva�uates the operation, but he uses no test equipment on it. He <br /> does not attempt to evaluate heat exciiangers because a reliable evaluation requires both <br /> dismantling and the use ot special equi;�ment. If a thorough evaluation of the mechanical <br /> equipment is required, � technician shoidd be employed. No direct <br /> heating Source is provided for the uppei level bathroom. <br /> ELECTRIC BASEBOARDS: Heat is providEd by electric baseboards. Care must be taken to <br /> avoid contact between the baseboards and curtains, blankets and other comtiustible <br /> materia;: ; many fires have resulted from such ccntact. This is a common heating svstem, but <br /> it prov:, poor air circulation. Even heating throughout ths living space is seldoi� achieved. <br />
