December 4, 1985
Sheila Brashear
3007 - 91st S.E.
Everett, WA 98204
Re: Application for Home Occupation Permit
and Business License for business named
"Charge' de'affaires" at 3424 Runk,3r i5 in Everett, NA
Dear Ms. Brashear:
CITY OF
everett
CITY HALL . 259P255
E VERETT. WASHNOTON
G"201
After reviewing your application for a home occupation permit, the City has
determined that you do not meet the general requirements of the Everett Municipal
Code (E.M.C.) Chapter 19.1'4 (copy enclosed) to qualify as a home occupation and so
hereby denies your request for a home occupation permit.
Since no one is living in Apartment ♦5 and the entire apartment unit is to be used
for the occupation, the following general requirements of S.M.C. 19.44.02 are not
met.
D. No person other than the occupant of the dwelling shall be employed on the
premises.
E. No more than one -quarter of the total floor area of the dwelling shall be
used for the occupation.
In regard to whether your use would be permitted as a "professional office" in the
R-4 zone, the following is provided:
What constitutes a "professional office" is not clearly
defined in the City code. City policy has been to use
the common everyday usage and meaning of the term
"professional office" as one that engages in any
occupation or vocation that is not purely commercial,
mechanical or agricultural in which a professed knowledge
of science or learning is used, and which is
professionally licensed; such as a doctors, lawyers, or
architect's office.
1708F
