With the addition of the following, the <br />plans are approved. <br />1. All food service equipment must be listed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) for its <br />intended use. Storage refrigerators and freezers must be listed under NSF standard #7. <br />2. Plumbing must meet state and local codes. In indirect waste is required for the food <br />preparation sink, mechanical dishwasher, ice machine, running water dipper well, and <br />equipment in which food is placed. <br />3. A dual check valve backflow prevention device is required between the copper water pipe <br />and the carbonation device. <br />4. Extra wall protection is required on walls behind sinks and food preparation tables. A 16 inch <br />high backsplash of plastic laminate, fiberglass reinforced plastic, or equal is acceptable. <br />Plastic coated hardboard is not acceptable. <br />5. The ceiling above the food preparation areas must be nonabsorbent, smooth, and easily <br />cleanable. <br />If there are any significant changes or additions to your layout or equipment, the Snohomish <br />Health District must be notified. <br />A preoperational inspection is required prior to opening for business. Please contact the Food <br />Program office about one week in advance to schedule an appointment. This will ensure <br />compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the State Board of Health for Food Service <br />Sanitation. <br />Please contact me if you have any questions.
