I
2) Whether the sign or signs promote the planned land use in the area
of the subject property and enhance 1he aesthetics of the surrounding
area;
The sign will not necessarily enhance the aesthetics of the
surrounding area but it does promote the restaurant use.
3) Whether the sign and its placement obstructs or interferes with any
other signs or property in the area or obstructs natural scenic views;
The proposed freestanding sign does not interfere with other signs
or obstruct natural scenic views. By placing the sign further north
(towards the Chevron sign), it will reduce its obstruction of a sign
on the adjoining property to the south.
4) Whether the proposed, plan is aesthetically superior to what could be
installed under existing criteria in the sign ccde;
Sign Category A allows a sign up to 75 square feet in area and 25
feet in height. The proposed sign is 16 square feet in area and 15
feet in height. The proposed sign is smaller in area and lower in
height than what code allows.
The Planning Director's decision may be appealed.
