Footing
excavations should be inspected by the SoiLs Engineex• prior to placing concrete
to as;,ure that site conditiots are consistent «ith our recommendations.
Structural Fill
Prior to placing fill, the excavations should be cleaned out of all
soft and wet soil. The water seepage shotild be controlled Ly placing a
layer of free draining gravel at the bottom of the trench, or with sump
lwmps, or a comUination of both. The fill areas should extend a minimwu
of 18 inches be}ond all footing perimeters. I'ill sliould consist of granular
matcrial containing less than 5%o fines passing the No. 200 sieve. Fill should
bc I)11CCCI 111 111131117U111 6-incl lifts and compacted to at least 95`% of laboratory
ma.ximum diy density per ASTM: D-1557-70. The structural fi!1 sLould be
tested and approved b} the Soils ngiireer or his represenlative.
Slab-on-Grade
The proposed slab-on-;rade should Ie sulporled on a minimwu of
2 feet of stivcttnal fill.
