and qualify lhem, on A-2 Second Floor. Also an (SD) has been added to the
garage level on A-2 First Floor.
7. Gable Dortner Ridge: the ridge beam for the gable dortner is not a supporting
ridge. 7here are collar ties for each gablc rafter to hold them from spreading.
And each rafter is supported on doublc 2x 12 val;ey beams as is normal for a
stick framed roof. A generic bracket has been indicated never-the-less to show
the connection of the gable ridge parallam to the new structural main ridge.
No point load needs to be added to the main ridge beam due to the gable ridge
because none exisu. However the loading of the main ridge affected by the
valley beams has been tHken iuto consideration reflecting a more complex
beam calc for the main ridge as opposed to an even loadins that otherwise
might seem appropriate.
8. 500 sf limit for R-30 insulation: 7'he Flat upper attic is insulated to R-38 as
indicated. More clarifying notes have been added to A-3 Section to show
extenl/location of various R values. Therc is no R-30 roof area that
approaches 500 sf. The largest is 5' by 32'.
9.
