SITE CHARACTERIZA'i ION The information presented in this section was gathered by ORA personnel for geotechnical engineering purposes only. This site characterization was not intended to address the presence or likelihood of contamination on or around the site. Specialized methods and procedures, avhich were not a part of this scope of services, are required for an adequate enviroi�mental site assessment. 4.1 Surface I The ground surface slopes down from approximate elevation 505 feet along the east I side of the property to approximate elevation 499 along the west side of the property. The area surrounding the residence had been covered in lawn grasses; however, at the time of our site visits, there were several stockpiles of excavated soils on the ground Isurface. � At the time of this exploration, virtually all of the demolition beyond the main residence was completed. The main residence had been raised and was resting on timber Icribbing that was supported on the native soils. The crib�ing extended through holes that were broken out of the existing concrete floor slab in the basement. Several holes � had been punched through the concrete around the perimeter of the basement. Standing water was present in each of the penetrations just below the bottom of the floor slab.
