Mr. Jeff Heilman AUG 10 P001
................... .
City of Everett CITY QF EVERETT
3200 Cedar Street Permit ✓ ervice#
Everett WA 98201 Plan Check No. C0106-027
Mr. Heilman,
I have reviewed your comments in your review letter dated July 27, 2001 for the Sievers
residence. The following responses are as requested.
l . A retaining wall detail is included on drawing A l . 1. The retaining wall is in
compliance with section 39.150 in the zoning code.
2. The deck has been revised to reflect this comment. See drawings.
3. A note has been added to the drawings to reflect the use of R-19 insulation in all
below grade walls in conditioned spaces.
4. Safety glass has been added to the exterior elevations. SG denotes it on the
exterior elevations.
5. A note has been added to the exterior elevations denoticg that the brick veneer is
to be installed per UBC 1403.6.
6 Washington State Ventilation and Air Quality Codes have been added to the
plans. See drawing A3.2
7. All of the windows in the house will be replaced. All of the exterior walls on the
first floor will get R-19 insulation. The major portion of the exterior walls in the
basement will be opened to accommodate the shear wall sheathing, when this
occurs they will get new R-19 insulation. The entire roof structure will be new
and thus it will receive R-30 insulation. I believe the prescriptive method as
shown on drawing A3.1 meets the current Washington State Energy Code since
the entire house is being brought up to those standards.
8. The U-value of the windows will be as shown in the WSEC table, or Lion IV on
14rawing A3.1.
9. See the revised attached calculation sheet #4.
10. EQ. 30-15 is in reference to buildings with combined systems. We are proposing
a single system (shear wall).
11. Top plates are to be strapped w/ (2) MST48 straps at each splice. This note was
added to drawing A2.2.
12. Provide #5 x 1'-6" dowels @16" o.c. This note was added to drawing A2.1.
13. Provide #5 x 1'-6" dowels @ 16" o.c. This note was added to drawing A2.1.
14. Use GLB 3 1/8 x 10'/z. See sheet 1 of calculations. Drawing A2.3 has also been
revised to reflect this.
15. The roof loading to the existing headers remains unchanged.
16. The footings will be doweled to the wall with #5 x 1'-6" dowels @16" o.c. This
note was added to drawing A2.1.
17. The structural note on drawing A2.1 has been revise to the correct table 23-II-13-I.
18. The GWB at the underside of the storage space has been revised to Type X. The
window was eliminated.
NN
U
