Callahan Re: First Company fan Coil Units Building Director Project: 880-7-TX Gentlemen: Responsive to your September 18, 1980 approval of Protection Engineering Laboratories, wc have been retained by Allied Sheet Metal Fabri- cators, Inc. and Tempco Equipment Company to investigate the First Company Series HX Fan-Heater Unit. Field inspection and tests in our laboratory reveal that two major modifications must be m��de to prov�de a product acceptable for listing and safe for use. This involves identification of the neutral per 21U-5 of the National Electric Code and U.L. 508, Industrial Control Equipment. Addi- tionally, per U.L. 508, one side of the low voltage control transformer must be grounded to prevent shock through short circuit or distributed capacity. The rc�odified sample provided for testing in our laboratory was found acceptable for listing. It is my understanding that the other units will be field modified to be compliant with these requirements. On this basis, we have assigned our listing Mark 8II0-7-TX. ti copy of our complete listing and test report per U.L. 508 and related U.L. Standards will be in your hands within three weeks. Since time is of the essence for our client, we see no hazard to life, limb or qro�erty if the modifie�i units are installe�t in a buil�iin9 for use as intended.
