Description Of Work: The extent of the woter distribution system is shown <br /> on ihe plans and consists of connecting to }he existing 12" water line at ihe <br /> existing building and ihe 12" water line stub on ihe south side of Seaway <br /> Blvd., and installing the service line around the building wifh ihe fire <br /> hydranis and fire protection lines to the new building. <br /> 1.02 QUALITY ASSURAiJCE <br /> A. Standard Specifications: The "City of Everett Design and Consiruction <br /> Standards and Specifications," dated April 25, 1984, shall apply unless <br /> modified herein. <br /> PART 2- MATERIALS <br /> 2.01 DUCTILE IRON PIPE <br /> A. Uuctile iron pipe shall conform to ASA Specifications A21.51-1971 (AWWA <br /> C151-71) Grade 60-42-10. <br /> B. DucTile iron pipe shall be cement-lined and sealed in accordance with ASA <br /> Specification A21.4-1964 (AWWA C104-64). <br /> C. The pipe joints shall conform to ASA Specification A21.11 -1964 (AWWA <br /> CI I I-4). Pipe joints shall be "Tyton" joinis. <br /> D. Pipe thickness shall be Class 52. <br /> 2.02 GATE VALVES <br /> A. All gate valves for water mains shall conform to the Standards of AWWA <br /> CS00-61 for double disc, parallel seat, "0" ring stem seal, non-rising stem <br /> and shall open by turning counter- clockwise the 2-inch square opening nut. <br /> All exposed sieel bolts, nuts, frame, etc. shall be painted with coal tar <br /> coating in conformance with AWWA C204 standards. <br /> B, All gaTe valves shall be installed and tested with ihe water mcii� pir:e. <br /> 02713-I ` <br /> 8301 � � 1 <br />
