Fire hydrants shall be of Traffic type and provision shall be made for <br /> drainage of barrel to protect units from freezing. Fire hydrants sholl be <br /> Pacific StaTes CasT Iron Pipe Co. (Model 2) or approved equal. Approval of <br /> the City of Everett must be obtained prior to installation. <br /> C. Hydranis shall be painted per Section 5.3.(5.1. <br /> D. All hydrants shall be installed with an auxiliary gate valve between ihe <br /> hydront main valve and ihe water main. The gate valve shall be UL <br /> approved and have a two-inch square operating nut. The valve shall be <br /> instalied at the hyd�•ant-lateral tee. If ihe hydrant is greater than ten (10) <br /> feet from the mairy ihe gate valve shall be installed in the laterul line, ten <br /> feet from the hydnint. The protector cover for ihe valve shall be left in <br /> plain view, flush wi'h grade afTer landscaping or paving. <br /> E. Hydrar,!s; auxiliary gate valves and supply lines shall be installed to meet <br /> sound engineering standards per NFPA Ot24, paragraphs 4202, 4301, 4302, <br /> 4303, 4304, 4305, and shall be tested in occordance with Section 5.3.22. <br /> PART 3- EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 INSTALLATION <br /> All water mains and appurtenonces shc;l be insialled in accordance with <br /> Section 5 of �he Standard Speciticotions i�cludinq Thrust blocks.
