ENGiNEERING STUDY i
 EVERETT COMMUNITP COLLEGE
DAY CARE CENTER
 EVEREI7', WASHING'!`UN •
E-4Z12
 INTRODUCfI4[
,
 Proiectscri4lioIl
The subject site is located at northwestern rnrner of Waverly Avenue and Tower Street,
Everett, Washington approximately as indicated on the Vicinity Map, Plate 1. The purpose
of this study is to explore the existing subsurface rnnditions at the site and, on this basis,
I to develop geotechnical recommendations for the proposed site development.
At the time our study was petformed, the site, proposed building locsstions, and our
exploratory locations were approximately as sho the Test Pit I.ocation Plan, Plate 2.
We understand that the structure will be two- ory building. We have estimated the design
 loads, based on our past experience. The mum dead and live loads are expected to be
as follows:
 Walt loads - 3 kips per linear foot
 Cclumn loads - 30 kips
• Slab loads - 150 psf
If any of the above design criteria change, we should be consulted to review the
recommendations contained in this report. In any case, we recommend that Eanh
Consultants, Lc. (ECI) be retained to perform a general review of the Cnal design.
,SpAg f Services
We performed this study in general aceordance with the scope of services outiined in our
November 22, 1988 proposal. On this basis, our report addresses:
• subsurface soil and groundwater conditions;
• suitability of existing on-site materials for use as fill, or recommenda-
tions for imponed ll materials;
• site preparation, grading and earthwork procedures, including details of
fill placement and compaction;
• short-term and long term groundwater management and erosion control
measures;
Earth Consultants, Inc.
l
