Attachment One <br /> RESOLUTION NO. /4/0 <br /> A RESOLUTION adopting alternative site A (generally bounded on the north by Pacific Avenue,on the <br /> west by Smith Avenue,on the south by 36th Street,and on the east by Hill Avenue)as the preferred site for <br /> the development of Everett's Multi-Modal Transportation Center. <br /> WHEREAS,the City initiated a site selection study in 1993 to recommend a site for the development of a multi- <br /> modal transportation center in the downtown Everett area; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City signed a consulting contract with Zimmer,Gunsul,Frasca Partnership dated November 24, <br /> 1993 to assist the City in identifying a preferred site; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City established technical and steering committees to review technical data and advise the City <br /> on site selection issues; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City utilized a public involvement process to help identify the scope of the study's <br /> environmental analysis. identify project issues, update interested parties on the study's progress, provide <br /> opportunities for the expression of opinions on any aspect of the siting study; and <br /> WHEREAS, the technical committee, upon review of all available information,recommended to the steering <br /> committee, on May 16, 1995, that Alternative Site A be selected as the preferred site; and <br /> WHEREAS, the steering committee, upon review of all available information,recommended to the City, on May <br /> 23, 1995, that Alternative Site A be selected as the preferred site; and <br /> WHEREAS, the final environmental impact statement/environmental assessment,published on June 23, 1995, <br /> identifies Alternative Site A as the preferred site; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that <br /> 1) Alternative Site A is selected as the preferred site to develop the City's multi-modal transportation <br /> center. <br /> 2) Staff is directed to proceed with development of the multi-modal transportation center on the preferred <br /> site. <br /> 3) Staff is directed to work with Burlington Northern Railroad to relocate the team track to the satisfaction of <br /> the City Council. -- <br /> Councilperson Introducinu 'esolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this /�l day of J w , 1)95 <br /> J ra, <br /> Cour\iCil Resident <br />
