WHEREAS, PSRC action would not bind the region to any particular decision on hosting <br /> a 2012 Games, particularly since a public vote in the year 2000 would be part of the <br /> process; and <br /> WHEREAS,the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is currently in the midst of <br /> determining whether the PSRC process would work most effectively to convey the Puget <br /> Sound Region's interest in remaining an eligible 2012 Summer Olympics site; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT: <br /> 1. That, should the USOC determine that a PSRC resolution is an appropriate manner by <br /> which to convey the Puget Sound Region's continuing interest in the 2012 Summer <br /> Olympic Games,that the PSRC Executive Board should be the forum to discuss such <br /> a regional matter. <br /> 2.
