014101 RESOLUTION NO. 4674 A Resolution by the Everett City Council placing the Donovan District on the Everett Register of Historic Places. WHEREAS,the City of Everett adopted Ordinance 1355-87 (amended 1956-93) authorizing the Everett Historical Commission to consider the merits of properties for placement on the Everett Register of Historic Places and to recommend to City Council that properties be placed on the Everett Register. WHEREAS,the City of Everett adopted by Resolution 2759 the 1986 Everett Inventory of Historic Properties as the official Inventory of Historic Properties in Everett. WHEREAS, the Everett Inventory of Historic Properties first recognized the Donovan District as historically significant to the City of Everett. WHEREAS,the City of Everett did further research and documentation on the Donovan District in 1993. WHEREAS,residents of the Donovan District requested the Everett Historical Commission consider the Donovan District for inclusion in the Everett Register of Historic Places. WHEREAS,the residents of the Donovan District presented the Everett Historical Commission with a petition signed by more than 50% of the property owners in the proposed district. WHEREAS,the Everett Historical Commission held public hearings on September 9 and September 30 to consider the proposed Everett Register District. WHEREAS, the Everett Historical Commission determined that the proposed Donovan Historic District meets the Everett Register Criteria: • Is associated with events that have made a significant contribution to the broad patterns of national and local history. • Embodies distinctive architectural characteristics of a type, period and style of construction. • Exemplifies special elements of the city's cultural, economic and architectural history • Is associated with the lives of persons significant to local history
