014101 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4674 <br /> A Resolution by the Everett City Council placing the <br /> Donovan District on the <br /> Everett Register of Historic Places. <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett adopted Ordinance 1355-87 (amended 1956-93) <br /> authorizing the Everett Historical Commission to consider the merits of properties for <br /> placement on the Everett Register of Historic Places and to recommend to City Council <br /> that properties be placed on the Everett Register. <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett adopted by Resolution 2759 the 1986 Everett Inventory <br /> of Historic Properties as the official Inventory of Historic Properties in Everett. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Inventory of Historic Properties first recognized the Donovan <br /> District as historically significant to the City of Everett. <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett did further research and documentation on the Donovan <br /> District in 1993. <br /> WHEREAS,residents of the Donovan District requested the Everett Historical <br /> Commission consider the Donovan District for inclusion in the Everett Register of <br /> Historic Places. <br /> WHEREAS,the residents of the Donovan District presented the Everett Historical <br /> Commission with a petition signed by more than 50% of the property owners in the <br /> proposed district. <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett Historical Commission held public hearings on September 9 and <br /> September 30 to consider the proposed Everett Register District. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Historical Commission determined that the proposed Donovan <br /> Historic District meets the Everett Register Criteria: <br /> • Is associated with events that have made a significant contribution to the <br /> broad patterns of national and local history. <br /> • Embodies distinctive architectural characteristics of a type, period and style of <br /> construction. <br /> • Exemplifies special elements of the city's cultural, economic and architectural <br /> history <br /> • Is associated with the lives of persons significant to local history <br />
