In the Prc-Application <br /> meeHng with the City of Everett,it was spted by Gary Doughty that altemative methodi and materials <br /> would be considered to rcplace the literal code rcquirement,as long as the rcplacement meeu or sutpasses <br /> ihe inrent of the code. <br /> Ttie JanSport Building shall attempt to blend a number of clements to accomplish a three-dimensional <br /> modulation of the exposed i'ace of the building.'Ihe modulatlon blend shall include such elemrnts as <br /> glazing,paint,architectucal and landscape feahves.In this manner,the modulatlon will encompass depth, <br /> color,material,and panems. <br /> A further description of these modulation�lementc fotlows: <br /> Paint Scheme: The paint schnue has been.lesigned ro break up the exterior devations using sevenl base <br /> colors and two accent colors,providing pattem modulation. <br /> Reveal: Architectural rcveals have been incoiponted to a higher than industry standard for <br /> warehausddistribution facilities. 7Lae rcveals should provide shadow lines in <br /> conjuncrian with accent paint ro futther brcak up the elevations ro ofkr depth <br /> modulation. <br /> Landscape: The aggressive landscaping around t6e perimeter of the building exceeds standard <br /> development requirements. 'llrc quandty,siu,and spacing of trees eliminate the view of <br /> a continuous building face. The hee placement cecurs such that the 60'maximum <br /> distance is surpassed. The tree depth also surpasses the 5'minimum depth reouircment. <br /> Adding these vegetative Ceamrcs enhances the tivee-dimensional properties of the <br /> proposed modulation elements. <br /> Glazing: Our proposal contains a high percmtage of glazing for a standard warchausddistribution <br /> Cacility. 'Ihis glazing provides further modulation tlwugh material diRercntial. <br /> Entry Canopy: The canopy over the entry provides a tucther change in material,with the inclusion of <br /> wood and stone within the feature. It adds to the depth modulation of the building while <br /> blending well with the landscape features,ollering futther material modulation to the <br /> proposed developmrnt. <br /> We bclieee that all oCthe above referenced fcatures meet or exceed t6e rcquirements of Section I S oC the <br /> zoning code,and we therefore request acceptance of this design with respect to these rcquiremen�s. <br /> � <br />
