These comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1997 Edition, unless stated otherwise. In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting the corrections requested. GENERAL 1. Smoke/heat venting, and curtain boards are required by UBC 906 and UFC Chapter 81 (High-Piled Conibustible Storage). 2. The submitted envelope summary indicates the prescriptive compliance option. The only proposed insulation indicated is R-11 in the roof. This dces not comply witn the prescriptive or component requirements of Chapter 13 of the Washing State Energy Code. STRUCTURAL 1. Drawings labeled "Not For Construction" cannot be considered construction documents. 2. The Geotechnical Report indicates the soil profile is best characterized as Type Sp. The calculations indicate a site-specific evaluation by the same company that allows for C,= .32 and C, _ .35. Please provide the site-specific evaluation. 3. UBC Table 23-11-H, Foomote Jl3 requires adjoining panel edges ro be backed by 3X nominal blocking when lOd nails are used.
