August 7, 2013 <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Cynthia Andreis, of Edmonds, commented on events affecting fire <br /> departments and law enforcement. <br /> COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA <br /> Budget Update <br /> Presented by Susy Haugen, Finance <br /> Council Member Roberts asked for additional detail regarding budget <br /> carryover numbers. Susy Haugen stated that the information is currently <br /> under development, but will be brought forward. <br /> Discussion took place regarding the 2014 Police and Fire pension <br /> contribution deferrals. Council Murphy asked for the total percentage that <br /> is funded versus the actuarially determined balance that would be <br /> necessary to have it fully funded. Susy Haugen stated she would follow <br /> up to provide City Council with the exact percentages. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher expressed concern about the lack of <br /> prospective funding for capital improvements. She stated she would like <br /> information regarding the change in the city's balance sheet over the last <br /> 5-10 years. <br /> CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> Moved by Council Member Affholter, seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts, to approve the following consent items: <br /> RESOLUTION - CLAIMS <br /> Adopt Resolution No. 6644 acknowledging the payment of audited <br /> and approved claims against the city of Everett in the amount of <br /> $1,555,419.76 for the period of July 20, 2013, through July 26, 2013. <br /> 215 <br />
