2010 6 093-93256.100
slortnwater runoft from the site is expected to be minimal due to the anticipaled dates ot conslruclion
(dry season) and the relatively small size ot the site.
3.4 Element #4 - Install Sediment Controls
All stormwater runofl from dislurbed •dreas will pass Ihrough an appropriate sediment removal BMP before
leaving ihe constrvction site. The specific BMPs to be used tor conirolling sediment on ihis project
include
■ Straw Bale Barrier (BMP C230)
■ Siit Fence (BMP C233)
■ Materials on Hand (8MP CI50) may also 6e appticable
Silt (i.e , filter fabric) fence will be inslalled across the drainage ditches where they leave the construction
site and esewhere as necessary. Additionally, quantities of erosion prevenlion and sediment control
matenais, including plastic covering, straw bales tor mulching, and extra silt fence (and ihe necessary
mesh and stakes), will be stockpiled on site al all times to be used for emergency situations such as
unexpected heavy summer rains.
3.5 Element #5 - Stabilize Soils
Exposed soils will be stabllized as necessary with ihe applicalion o( BMPs to prevenl erosion. The
specific BMPs for soil stabilization thal will be used on this project include
■ Temporary ard Permanent Seeding (BMP C120)
■ Nets and Blankets (BMP C122)
■ Plaslic Covermg (BMP CI23)
■ Surface Roughening (BMP C130)
■ Dust Control (BMP C140)
■ Matenals on Hand (BMP CI50) may also be applicable
The major area of disWrbed soil will be the cap itsel(, which will be wnstructed in 6fls. Olher features
requiring soil slabiGzation include soils slockpiled on site as necessary.
The projec sie is located wesl of the Cascade Mountain Cresl As such, no soils will remain exposed
and unstabilized lor morc lhan 7 days during the dry season (May 1 to September 30) or 2 days during
the wet season (October 1 to April 30). Regardless ot the time of year, aU soils will be stabiGzed al the
end of the shift be(ore a holiday or weekend if needed, based on weather forecasts.
Ail disturbed soils will be stabi6zed lor ihe wet season. If ihe cap has not been completed, the wp
surface will be track-walked to roughen il in accordance with BMP C730. The perimeler ditches will be
temporarily seeded if permanent seeding has not been established prior to the wet season.
