These twelve elements are discussed m Ihe
following sedions. If site conditions render an element unnecessary. a justification for exemption is
provided.
The SWMMWW, incorporaled inlo lhis Plan by reference, provides su9gested BMPs tor each of the
hvelve eiements. The BMPs applicable to Ihis projed and their SWMMWW numbers are listed below and
described in greater detail in Appendix B. Alternate BMPs tor pertinent SWPPP elements are included in
Appendiz C. Altemate BMPs are included as a quick reference tool for Ihe on-site inspector in the event
that the BMPs 65ted in this section proves lo be inettetiv or inappropriate durmg construction to satisty
the requirements of the NPDES Permit To avoid potential erosion and sediment control problems, the
Certilied Erosion and Sediment Control ead (BMP C 160) witl promptiy initiate ihe implementation of one
or more of the altemalive BMPs listed in Appendix C atter determining that exis6ng BMPs are inettecfive
or failfng.
All earthwork adivities will be peAormed during the dry season. Behveen October 1, 2010 and April 30,
2011, no earthwork activities will be pertormed on the site, unless approved by the permfling agency. I(
the permanent BMPs have not been installed by the beginning of ihe wet season, the :ite will be
temporarily stabiGzed as necessary by October 1, 2010 in preparation for the wet season shutdown.
Temporary BMPs Ihat have already been installed will be retained over Ihe wet season.
3.1 Element #1 - Mark Clearing Limits
To reduce the area of dlsturbed (i.e., potenlially erodible) soil, the limds ot .onstroclion will be clearly
marked in the field belore land-disturbing activities begin. The BMPs relavant to marking Ihe clearing
limds that will be applied lor this projecl include
■ High Visibility Plastic or Metal Fence (BMP C 103)
The site boundaries wdl be delineated wilh high-visi6iliry (orange) safely fence or a combinalion o( high-
vislbility plastic lence and standard (black) sdt fence. No disturbance beyond Ihe clearing limits during the
construction period wili be allowed.
3.2 Element #2 - Establish Construction Access
No wnstruction access BMPs are required for this projecL Exis6ng gravel site access roads along ihe
north side of the site wlll be the primary access poinls.
3.3 Element #3 - Control Flow Rates
No flow conlrol BMPs are required for this project. Stormwater runofl from the project site will be
discharged directly to wastewater treatmenl ponds that are art of an NPDES•permiried treatmenl system
thal discharges to Sleamboat Slough through a conslrucled conveyance system.
