Subsurface Information: <br />SECT[ON 00800 <br />SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITiONS <br />(1) Data on soil and subsurface conditions presented in the Specifications are <br />not to be taken as definitive but aro based on limited available information <br />and the interpretation and opinions uf the investigators; consequtntly, such <br />data cannot be considered precise or comrlete, and the Owner makes no <br />guarantee as to the completeness, accuracy, or precision of the data. <br />(2) Contractor shall familiaziu itself with available inforniation on subsurface <br />conditions that could be expocted to affect the perforcriance of tho Work or <br />its schedule and cost associated with such perforttiance. Reports of studies <br />and investigations and other data obtained by, or on behalf of, Owner are <br />available to Convactor for its use in developing an understanding <br />subsurface conditions. Contractor shall estimate the effect of known site <br />conditions on the selection of construction equipment and methods, <br />�chedule, and costs of performing the Work under this Contract. <br />(3) The following geotechnical enginaring report was prepared for this <br />project: Landau Associates. Geotechnica! Engineering Services, <br />Proposal for /-5 Embankment ModifrcnNon in Construction with the Pon <br />of Everetr's Ha6itot Compensatron Bank nt Union Slough, Everen, <br />Washington. May 9, l999. This report may be viewed at the office of the <br />Engineer. <br />(4) The information presented in the above documents depicts subsurface <br />: onditions at the exploration locations at the time of exploration. 7'hese <br />l�iagrams aze presented only for the convenience of the Contractor, and <br />their presentation does not reduce or in any way limit the Convactor's <br />responsibilities noted eLsewhore in this section and in the Contract <br />Documents. Entering into the Agrament shall be conclusive evidence that <br />the Contractor has reviewed available information on site conditions and is <br />satisfied as to the nature of the Work to be performed, materials to be <br />fumished, and the requirements of the Specifications. <br />If desired, Contractor may seek approval from the Owner to make its own <br />) �ubsurface investigations to satisfy itself of the site and subsurface conditions and <br />to provide infomiation for Contractor-fumished engineering and drawings. If such <br />investigations aze conducted, they shall be coordinated with the Owner.
