PORT OF EVERETT SECTION 02200 <br />IUIYION SLOUGH MARSH MITIGATION EARTHWORK <br />! F. The following methods shall be utiliud as neccssary to prevent accumulation of excess <br />moisture: <br />I. Cover with plastic. <br />2. Grade to drain. <br />3. Cap with non-porous material. <br />4. Roll surface to reduce porosity. <br />I G. Remove and replace material that, in the opinion of the PORT, becomes unsuitable or <br />� unstable. <br />H. Inspect the conswcted portion of the berm daily for excessive sloughing or other <br />evidence of berm weakening. Repair areas of the bemi that slough or fail at no additional <br />cost to the Owner. Use pumps; <br />drain pipes, check valves, or other rt►ethods approved by PORT. <br />Rertave drain pipes at conclusion of Work unless otherwise approved by PORT. <br />Dewatering costs shall be included in the pay item "Berm Consauction." <br />TOLERANCES <br />Vertical: The variation from the true top elevation of the benn shall be -1 inch to <br />+1.5 foot. In azeas of excavation, lhe elevation shall be -4 inches to +1.5 feet. <br />Horizontal: ±6 inches. <br />F[ELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />Field inspection and testing will be perfomied under provisions of Section 01400. <br />Perform tests por "References" in Parc 1 of this section. <br />if tests indicate Work does not meet specified requirements, recorr�act and retest. Costs <br />for retesting failed tests shall be bome by the CONTRACi'OR. <br />02200-6 <br />
