We made those comments based on water model information that indicated that flow velocities would exceed our standards if the required fire flow rates were drawn from the existing (relocated) on site hydrant. Since then, we have had a chance to reevaluate the situation based on the plans that have been submitted. By adding into the model the improvements that you have planned on the site and by relocating the connection for the proposed hydrant just west of Broadway from the 8-inch onsite loop to the 12-inch main in Broadway (the hydrant itself can stay where it is), then the velocities drop to acceptable levels and the system can accommodate the demand with out the off -site improvements mentioned in the SEPA. I wilt try to have some redline mark-ups on this project ready for you by tomorrow.
