1 to the satisfaction of the Engineer at no additional cost st to the Contracting <br /> 2 Agency. <br /> 1 3 <br /> 4 For mainline planing operations, use equipment with automatic controls and <br /> 5 with sensors for either or both sides of the equipment. The controls shall be <br /> I 6 capable of sensing the grade from an outside reference line, or a mat- <br /> 7 referencing device. The automatic controls shall have a transverse slope <br /> 8 controller capable of maintaining the mandrel at the desired transverse slope <br /> I 9 (expressed as a percentage) within plus or minus 0.1 percent. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Remove all loose debris from the planed surface before opening the planed <br /> I 12 surface to traffic. The planings and other debris resulting from the planing <br /> 13 operation shall become the property of the Contractor and be disposed of in <br /> 14 accordance with Section 2-03.3(7)C, or as otherwise allowed by the Contract. <br /> I 15 <br /> 16 5-04.3(15) Sealing Pavement Surfaces <br /> 17 Apply a fog seal where shown in the Plans. Construct the fog seal in <br /> 18 accordance with Section 5-02.3. Unless otherwise approved by the Engineer, <br /> I 19 apply the fog seal prior to opening to traffic. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 5-04.3(16) HMA Road Approaches <br /> I 22 Construct HMA approaches at the locations shown in the Plans or where <br /> 23 staked by the Engineer, in accordance with Section 5-04. <br /> 24 <br /> I 25 5-04.4 Measurement <br /> 26 HMA Cl. PG , HMA for Cl. PG , and Commercial HMA will <br /> 27 be measured by the ton in accordance with Section 1-09.2, with no deduction being <br /> I 28 made for the weight of asphalt binder, mineral filler, or any other component of the HMA. <br /> 29 If the Contractor elects to remove and replace HMA as allowed by Section 5-04.3(11), <br /> 30 the material removed will not be measured. <br /> I 31 <br /> 32 Roadway cores will be measured per each for the number of cores taken. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Crack Sealing-LF will be measured by the linear foot along the line of the crack. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Soil residual herbicide will be measured by the mile for the stated width to the nearest <br /> 37 0.01 mile or by the square yard, whichever is designated in the Proposal. <br /> I 38 <br /> 39 Pavement repair excavation will be measured by the square yard of surface marked <br /> 40 prior to excavation. <br /> I 41 <br /> 42 Asphalt for fog seal will be measured by the ton, as provided in Section 5-02.4. <br /> 43 <br /> I 44 Longitudinal joint seals between the HMA and cement concrete pavement will be <br /> 45 measured by the linear foot along the line and slope of the completed joint seal. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 HMA sawcut and seal, and paved panel joint seal, will be measured by the linear foot <br /> 48 along the line and slope of the completed joint seal. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 Planing bituminous pavement will be measured by the square yard. <br /> 1 51 <br /> I <br /> I AMENDMENTS TO THE 2016 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/1/16 <br />
