WHEREAS, the Sound Transit Board of Directors adopted the Sound Transit Art <br /> Program Guidelines on January 22, 1998; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Sound Transit Art Program Guidelines identifies that the Sound Transit <br /> budget for art will be calculated as 1%of capital construction costs, excluding the cost of <br /> tunneling; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Sound Transit Board of Directors will also set aside a percentage of the <br /> capital construction cost of the commuter rail component for its share of public art at <br /> Everett Station; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT that <br /> 1) One (1) percent of the non-commuter rail capitalized construction costs shall <br /> be used to design,produce and incorporate public art at Everett Station. <br /> 2) The funds for public art at Everett Station be deposited in the Park Cumulative <br /> Arts Reserve, Municipal Arts Program and that the Everett Cultural <br /> Commission, as authorized by Ordinance No. 1471-88 (as amended), "...make <br /> recommendations to the Mayor as to the disbursement of funds from the Park <br /> Cumulative Arts Reserve, Municipal Arts Program [for Everett Station]". <br /> 3) The Everett Cultural Commission work collaboratively with Everett Station's <br /> design team and Sound Transit in selecting artist(s)to the satisfaction of the <br /> City Council,to develop the public art component of Everett Station. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resol on <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 5th day of August , 1998 <br /> Council resident <br />
