The municipal judges shall serve on a part-time basis,with <br /> position 1 serving at least 30 hours per week and position 2 serving at least <br /> 22 hours per week. The salary for the municipal judges shall be the <br /> proportion of full-time (40 hours per week) for which the positions are <br /> authorized in this section,multiplied by the annual salary for a municipal <br /> judge, which shall be set by the Citizens' Commission on Salaries of <br /> Elected Officials. The municipal judges of the city of Everett shall be <br /> granted all items of nonsalary compensation granted to appointive officers <br /> as specified in Sections 2.74.010 through 2.74.050 of the Everett <br /> Municipal Code. <br /> B. Any change in the authorized proportion of full-time for municipal <br /> judge position 1 and/or municipal judge position 2 shall be made by the <br /> city council after receiving a recommendation from the mayor. <br /> Section 3: Ordinance No. 1259-86, Section 6 (EMC 2.108.060), which currently reads as <br /> follows: <br /> Judges pro tem. <br /> The mayor shall, in writing, subject to concurrence of the judge of the <br /> Everett municipal court, appoint judges pro tem who shall act in such <br /> matters as requested by the judge and in the absence or disability of the <br /> regular judges or subsequent to the filing of an affidavit of prejudice. The <br /> judges pro tem shall be qualified to hold the position of the judge of the <br /> municipal court as provided in this chapter. The judge pro tern shall be <br /> compensated at the rate of two hundred dollars per day or appropriate <br /> portions thereof as determined by the municipal judge. The term of the <br /> appointment shall be specified in writing,but in any event shall not extend <br /> beyond the term of the appointing mayor or judge. <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Judges pro tern. <br /> The mayor shall, in writing, appoint judges pro tem who shall act in such <br /> matters as requested by a regular judge or in the absence or disability of <br /> the regular municipal court judges or subsequent to the filing of an <br /> affidavit of prejudice. A municipal judge pro tern shall be an attorney <br /> admitted to practice law before the courts of record of the state of <br /> Washington and a citizen of the state of Washington and of the United <br /> States of America.
