• <br /> before the courts of record of the state of Washington; and a citizen of the <br /> state of Washington and of the United States of America. <br /> C. The number of hours per month to be served by additional judges <br /> shall be approved by city council after receiving a recommendation from <br /> the mayor. The salary for the additional municipal judges shall be the <br /> proportion of full-time(40 hours per week) for which the positions are <br /> authorized, multiplied by the annual salary for a municipal judge, which <br /> shall be set by the Citizens' Commission on Salaries of Elected Officials. <br /> The municipal judges of the city of Everett shall be granted all items of <br /> nonsalary compensation granted to appointive officers as specified in <br /> Sections 2.74.010 through 2.74.050 of the Everett Municipal Code. <br /> Section 5: Ordinance No. 1259-86, Section 8 (EMC 2.108.080),which currently reads as <br /> follows: <br /> Judicial vacancy. <br /> Any vacancy in the municipal court due to a death, disability, or <br /> resignation of a municipal court judge shall be filled by the mayor for the <br /> remainder of the unexpired term. The appointment shall be subject to <br /> confirmation of the city council, as provided in subsection(A) of Section <br /> 2.108.030. The appointed judge shall be qualified to hold the position of <br /> judge of the municipal court as provided in this chapter. <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Judicial Vacancy. <br /> Any vacancy in the municipal court due to a death, disability, or <br /> resignation of a municipal court judge shall be filled by an appointment <br /> made by the mayor until the next municipal election. The appointment <br /> shall be subject to confirmation by the city council. City council <br /> confirmation shall be by a majority of the whole membership. The <br /> appointed judge shall be qualified to hold the position of judge of the <br /> municipal court as provided herein. <br /> Section 6: <br /> Savings. <br /> The enactments of this ordinance shall not affect any case,proceeding, <br /> appeal or other matter currently pending or in any way modify any right or <br /> liability, civil or criminal,which may be in existence on the effective date <br /> of this ordinance.
