• r_
City Responsibilities:
1. Provide any information requested from its files and will assist as necessary in
obtaining information from other agencies.
2. Operate the existing lift station in the presence of the Engineer.
3. Perform confined space entry inspections if necessary.
4. Provide personnel and equipment to perform pump tests (pressure and flow) at the
existing station.
5. Provide access to the site and building and perform equipment operation.
Deliverables:
1. Provide copies of all collected and developed information as requested by the City.
Task 3—Design Criteria Development
This task provides for the development of the design criteria for the lift station replacement.
The key issues will be summarized and the replacement station concepts and alternatives to
be examined in subsequent tasks will be identified. The detailed subtasks are as follows:
MSA Responsibilities:
1. Review and Clarify City Standards— Obtain and review City lift station design and
telemetry standards and other relevant design references. Meet with City staff to
review and clarify the City's design requirements. Establish City preferences with
respect to equipment selection, instrumentation and controls, system control
strategies, station appurtenances, site amenities, and other replacement station
functions and features.
2. Update Service Area Characteristics and Design Flows—In a collaborative effort with
City staff, review pending service area changes as related to annexations, changes in
the service area of the Alderwood Water and Wastewater District, and potentially
other changes. Document the revised service area and its characteristics. Based upon
the revised service area, establish revised design pumping rates at present, in 20 years,
and at buildout. The City will conduct system modeling as needed to assist in this
work effort. Contrast the revised flow rates to those in the Comprehensive Sewer
Plan. Also evaluate and define the maximum or optimum capacity for the lift station
and force main combination independent of service area.
3
City of Everett MURRAY,SMITH&ASSOCIATES,INC.
