r
a. Type and quantity of odors generated at the site and force main discharge.
b. Odor control strategies appropriate for the station and force main
configuration.
c. Requirements, including size and type of odor control equipment, and
compatibility with the City's current design standards and equipment.
The existing station site is currently equipped with a bioxide injection system that is
used for odor control in downstream trunk sewers and at the treatment plant. The
City desires to continue utilizing that system. MSA shall coordinate with the City to
evaluate the suitability of reusing existing equipment versus installing new
equipment.
8. Noise Abatement Considerations—Evaluate the need for noise abatement to reduce
mechanical noise generated at the lift station site. This will include considerations for
noise generated byday to day operation of the lift station and the standby power
systems. The evaluation will include:
a. Estimating the type and level of noise generated at the site by equipment
taking into account the lift station configuration.
b. Defining requirements for noise levels based on the location of the lift station
site and maintaining a safe working environment and complying with
applicable ordinances and laws that regulate noise limits.
c. Strategies for reducing noise at the lift station site based on the station
configuration and location and equipment selection/specifications.
9. Force Main Evaluation - Consider the sizing of the existing force main and the
efficacy of continuing its use with the new lift station capacity and associated pump
head conditions.
10. Interim Lift Station Operation Requirements - Consider the impact of constructing the
new lift station on the operation of the existing lift station. Identify by-pass pumping
needs, flow diversions, and/or disruptions to the operation of the existing station
during construction to accommodate the new lift station.
11. Identification of Relevant Codes - Identify the relevant codes that will apply to the
project including the NFPA classifications and requirements. Discuss generally how
the codes will be complied with.
12. Permits and Approvals - Identify the permits and approvals that are anticipated to be
required for the project. Summarize the permit and approval requirements and
timelines.
35
City of Everett MURRAY,SMITH&ASSOCIATES,INC.
