Task 7 — Preliminary Design Report <br /> This task provides for documenting the specific approach that will be undertaken for final <br /> design and construction of the new lift station. Under this task the preliminary design report <br /> will be prepared for the proposed improvements and preliminary plans and specifications <br /> will be developed to 30% completion. The report will include all the project elements <br /> including lift station and site configuration, mechanical plans, structural elements and <br /> considerations, landscaping plans, electrical and control elements, odor control measures, <br /> noise abatement features, HVAC, etc. The report will also include a description of the <br /> process that was used to develop alternatives, evaluate lift station options and select the <br /> preferred alternative. Previous technical memorandums will be included in the report as <br /> appendices, as well as the geotechnical report. The detailed subtasks are as follows: <br /> MSA Responsibilities: <br /> 1. Project Elements —A list of all project elements will be developed along with a <br /> description of each element along with the task activities needed for design. <br /> 2. Preliminary Plans - Preliminary drawings will be developed to approximately the <br /> 30% level. The drawings will include: <br /> a. Design criteria <br /> b. Lift station schematic and hydraulic profile <br /> c. Site plan <br /> d. Lift station floor plans, elevations, sections <br /> e. Mechanical plans <br /> f. Yard piping (temporary and permanent) <br /> g. Existing station demolition <br /> h. P&IDs <br /> i. Electrical site plan and floor plans <br /> j. One line diagrams <br /> k. HVAC and odor control <br /> 1. Landscaping plans <br /> 3. Preliminary Technical Specifications - Based on the preliminary design, preliminary <br /> technical specifications for major equipment will be developed. The preliminary <br /> technical specifications will be developed for: <br /> a. Pumps and motors <br /> b. Standby generator <br /> c. Odor control equipment <br /> d. Other major equipment <br /> 4. Preliminary Cost Estimates - A preliminary construction cost estimate will be <br /> developed with appropriate contingencies.
